Mathematics Final Project

This is our second and also the final project, in a group of 5 we are required to conduct a survey to study the understanding the level of between female/male young adult aged 21 to 25 and adults aged 26 to 30 on one of the common chronic disease in Malaysia and produce a infrographic poster. Each of members have to survey at least 50 persons. The chronic disease we have chosen in this project is breast cancer.

The Infographic Poster

The Survey Report

REFLECTION:
In this project, through the research I get to know more knowledge about breast cancer. I enjoy the way we share the different task to complete the survey, report and infographic. It  is a good experience to survey others and very appreciated other's help. Without their help, we can't complete this project.

Design Journal

In this semester, we are required to submit one journal every 3 weeks. In the first journal, we have to choose a miniature toy character and explore and research the basic information like history, character, abilities and appearances of the toy. In the second journal, we have to explore at least 2 keywords that best describe the miniature toy we have chose in the first journal and create an artwork that express the keyword. In the third journal, we are required to explore about the display box and design a display box that show our keywords. In the last journal is a compilation of the pervious journal and whole semester work in a file and create a cover for it.

Journal 2

Journal 3

Final Journal

REFLECTION
In the journal, I have learned many things the knowledge, the skills, the brainstorming. I get to know more about the character, history, outfit, facts of the batman in the first journal. I also have try find the best keyword from the character and explore the keyword and artwork in journal 2. Besides, I have learned the function of a display box and how to design a good display box by using the design elements and principle and apply them to the keyword and create a design of the display box in journal 3. I have learned photo shooting and posting for the cover page and also photoshop the cover, spine, and cv in the last journal.

Project 2B

This is the second part of project 2 and also the individual part of the project. We are required to create a display box for our miniature toy. The display box should focus on the design elements and principles that are suitable for the miniature toy and the keywords that we given to for our toy. Beside , we are to required to 2 presentation board for our display box. The miniature toy character I have chose is batman and the keywords I gave for my character was mysterious and wealth. The inspiration is from the batman's bat cave and and shape of diamond. As you can see inside the cave is dark and you are very hard to tell what is in the inside cave so it will show the mysterious feel as well as the black color and diamond represent rich so I am using the diamond shape to show the wealth feel and express my keywords.

The Final Model

The Presentation Board

REFELECTION
I am satisfied with my display box for my miniature toy because I personally think it show the strong mysterious and wealth feel. Although the model look quite simple like just paste every triangle but making the model was not that easy. I have to measured the triangle properly and paste it nicely otherwise the model will out of shape and can see the glue anywhere. Besides that, although my design just geometry shape but I still feel hard to draw their section and elevation plan.

Project 2A: The Mood Cube

The task of this project is allow us to explore the transforming from 2D elements to 3D form. In a group of 4 are tasked to translate the given words into shapes and forms and using the right principles into 3D form. We will need to understand and explore the given word and playing with the shapes, forms, colours, and materials and transforming it into 3D artwork to suite the given word. The word we have chosen is merge.

The Final Merge Model

REFLECTION
We have made several design of merge model in the first week and for the second week we are playing the model with colours to enhance the word and in the third week we have experiment few materials to express the model. In the last week, we combine the colours, materials and model we have experiment in the past few week and produce our final model. I think this project is challenging yet it is fun to explore the word through the principles, shapes and forms.

Project 1B: Daily Items Artwork Exploring Principles of Design

In a group of 4, we are required to create 9 simple art work using daily materials to show our understanding of design principles. As a final submission and presentation, we are required to display all 9 artwork and include 2 A2 presentation board to further explaining about the design principles that is on the artwork. In our group, the item that we have chosen to create the artwork is washer. We have to use washer create 9 art work with design principles. The principles we chosen for the artwork are harmony, hierarchy, repetition, datum, pattern, movement, radial, emphasis, and balance. The concept of our artwork was inspirated from the washer chemistry particles.

The 9 Washer Artwork

REFLECTION
In this project, we enjoy a lot and had a lot of funs during the process of create the design and making the artwork. Besides, I also have learned to apply design principles in an artwork and some chemistry theory.

Project 1A: Sketching Elements of Design in Nature

This is an individual project, we are required to observe the site we visited in Tanjung Bidara, Melaka and sketch  our findings, understanding and interpretation of basic design elements we found in the site. In addition, we are required to sketch 10 sketches and include an explanation pages for each item behind the artwork to explain and identify the required elements of design. This 10 sketches by using hatching and stippling method and the design elements which are line, shape, form, texture, colour hue, colour value, space, and etc. I have applied this design elements and drawing techniques to the leaf, shell, seed, coral and scenery I saw in the site.

10 Sketches

REFLECTION
I am quite stress in this first project because I didn't have any drawing base and this is my first time using hatching and stippling techniques to draw. Meanwhile, I am happy that I have learned new drawing techniques and I have made it in the end. Besides, I also learned that different line weight and shades show different feel of drawing and it is important in drawing otherwise your drawings will look plain.

Social Psychology: Journal

We are required to write 5 journal and 2 entries for each journal. The entries have to based on our own life experiences instead of making it up. Besides, we should also reflect the event or experience based on the lecture that our lecturer gave it to us. So I have chosen few concepts like confirmation bias, attitudes, mood affect cognition, false consensus and social perspective on stealing  and reflect it with my own experience.

The Journal Slides

REFLECTION:
Due to this journal, I have realized that our daily life many experiments is related to the concepts that I have learned in class. Like confirmation bias and false consensus thingy happen quite often in my life and I don't even realized that until I have learned in social psychology. Besides that, I also realized that our behaviors, actions, moods, thoughts and etc is part of social psychology. I am quite happy that I have learned social psychology in this semester cause it make me feel better when I deal with different people. I can more understand and explain why some people will behave in different way and feel that they are silly and ridiculous.
